Recently I had posted a thread about forming a free software developer
community...
People had responded to it by joining the Google Group...
Uncorkers is a group of hackers organized in order of meritocracy To
develop quality free software, pioneering technology, and
documentation as well as partcipate actively in the Free Software
Movement, You may think about uncorkers as a clone of Apache but the
difference is that uncorkers promise to release their work under GPL
and they are also active freedom fighters. I've been thinking about
launching the website uncorkers.org since last month during the RMS
visit... but i was in doubt about it being complete enough for the
launch... Now that the code is improving with speed getting its
finishing touches I'm sure it will be ready to serve by the end of
next week...
Sorry if I'm causing trouble by telling this late but How can I launch
the site during the RMS visit...
For RMS to decide i've made an email draft and the wiki page
http://bangalore.gnu.org.in/index.php/User:Shashi/Uncorkers:About
Please help.

Hi,
We are planning to put a website..and work on the issue of say no to
"imposed monopoly rights"
IIsc students had made this request . We were planning to do some
ground level campaigning.
Red hat Venky, Prof Gopinath said it would be important..given the fact
of the 'software patents' are being trolled..and 'IP" cells are being
promoted in a big way..
We thought if RMS would come it would be very nice.
We had blocked 14,17th on discussions with Renuka and Anivar.
Is this dropped completely ? Anyways we will continue the ground work..
thanks
senthil
Hey Senthil,
The awareness campaign was a good start. We have a long way to go in
influencing University policies. The issue of democracy must be made
integral to all our campaigns in Karnataka.
Without a democratic approach no one is going to accept our efforts however
good-willed it may be.
It is important to involve the teachers, the students and this must be a
participative process.
In solidarity with the Free Software Movement,
Vikram Vincent

Hi,
As many of you know many of us will be there in M.G Road today near
Gandhi Statue 5.pm .
college students, teachers , programmers will be campaigning on the
wonderful gnu/replacements available and ask why students should only
learn to run some software rather than learn how the software works.
Its in someway symbolic its happening near Gandhi statue, as this man
too pictched in his life for self-reliance and freedom.
Freedom Matters in software society and soul. Free software . Free
Society
Be there...get your umbrella | enjoy the rain | enjoy the freedom ;)
cheers
senthil

I also think that the statement is too short and does not sound good.
It may be changed to something like:
FSF India is not meant to lead a mass movement, but it may support a
mass movement, or its members may join or lead such mass movements.
The members of the board are selected from the among the leads from
within the free software community of India, and the selected board
of directors members work democratically.
'not democratic' does not sound good. We can make an amendment to
the FAQ after hearing some more constructive criticism.
