What error does it give when you try to start is? Also try this :

apachectl configtest

This should tell you what the error is.

can u help me out as soon as possible. my prob is that after i created some virtual domains in the apache web server. i tried 2 restart the httpd service, but it failed. so i thought of restarting the system.but, while booting, while starting the services, it stops at "starting httpd service". so the system is not getting loaded fully.
