Hi Ajit,
Under Linux with those same settings we get a screen that leaves an empty area on the top and bottom i.e. screen display is not full screen.
.....
Can we do the some settings (software / hardware / cable) to get fullscreen under Linux with a Mono VGA monitor....
Most distros include a utility called xvidtune. Start up X and run this - it allows you to change the monitor timings that affect the size and position of the display area. Once you have adjusted things to satisfaction, xvidtune can save the settings to your X config file so that they are used the next time you start X.
Note that the program has a warning that fiddling can damage your monitor, but as long as you change one setting at a time in small increments you should be fine - I've used it plenty of times & it's never blown up a monitor for me yet :-)
Always keep in mind that you can kill an X session and get back to the prompt in an emergency by pressing ctrl-alt-backspace.
