Shouldn't it be lang=en rather than lang=us? Check

us is a iso 3166 country code. en is a iso 695 (IIRC) language code.
language codes are usually of the iso 695 form, and sometimes of the
iso695_iso3166 - to signify a dialect. eg: en, en_US, en_GB, fr, etc.
