Hi, anyone using an USB bluetooth dongle to connect mobile phones with a desktop PC running linux? I need feedback on :
1. their compatibility with linux 2. performance and reliability. (i need to transfer 10-15 MB sized files to the MMC card in the cellphone)
I specifically need to use the dongle with a nokia 6600 and a sony ericsson Z600 mobile phone. I am looking for one with any of these following chipsets - - Broadcom, CSR, Transilica, RTX, AVM or Silicon Wave, which have been tested and found to be working on linux. ( more of this from http://www.holtmann.org/linux/bluetooth/devices.html)
I am not really interested in an IR solution but if anyone has had a good experience with that, please let me know.
If anyone has successfully used one of these USB dongles on linux, please let me know the brand, chipset, and how much it cost you. I am currently getting dongles with 25 mtrs range for around 1200 bucks, but the dealers know nothing about their chipset or compatibility with linux.
