I have mandrake 9 installed and i can listen to cda and wav format files through xmms (or any other player). But for any mpg encoded audio, i don't get error messages, just no sound. For mpg video, there's no sound. For mp3 audio, only the trackbar proceeds; no sound.

I do have MPG Layer 1/2/3 plugin on my system, so that probably isn't the problem. mpg version is 1.2.7 (If that should help)
