It works. I went to the other player sites but they don't have a direct install. There is some plugin or the other support required. Xmms is already in my RHEL as I found out when I tried to load its rpm but there
but i suggest u to try Mplayer also. It's damn good .If u have the issue of compilation then compile it at night time.This is what i usually do.
