Thanks for your reply. The reason to use wine is just to port those application which are not having any alternatives under Linux. I understand your concern and I fully agree with you that it is meaningless to run winamp using wine when there are various media players available under Gnu/linux.

I am still looking for the solution....

ps. i feel wine should be used only when it is absolutely essential .
things like running winamp on wine is something which confuses me
.. ;-)
why not run windoze insted? ;-)
