Switch to another terminal by pressing Ctrl+Alt+F2. Now u r in root prompt.

Now give the command 'passwd' and give the new root password. After this go back to X by pressing Ctrl+Alt+F5.

Now u can mount any drive.

And U cannot eject the Knoppix CD bcoz The OS is runing from the CD. If u remove the CD, there will be no OS.

hi guys,
i require some help can anyone tell me the root password for
the LFY Kinoppix cd which came along with this month's issue.. i
need to mount my drives ...but for that the system ask's me for
root password..and also can anyone tell me how can i eject the
LFY KINOPPIX cd after i have booted from it..
