I am trying to install RH 7.2 on a VIA motherboard having ProSavageDDR (Mfg. by S3) video controller. The installation options for X server configuration does not list out and specific X server for the above chipset, hence I am forced to use the Generic Savage server. But when I try to test the server during configuration, it gives a blank screen. The monitor I am using is Samtron 753s, which is again not listed in the default hardware list. I've tried using different color depths & screen resolutions, but still the blank screen. The rest of the installation goes smoothly. I am trying to set up a graphical login. Post installation, when I try to start linux, the X server fails to start. I keep getting the error message, X server failed to start, no screens found. I suspect, it is the video driver issue, and there is a specific driver for the above vid controller available on the net. My issue is, being a newbie, how can I install this driver and/or install the X server. My RH7.2 install comes with XFree86 X server, version 4.1.0. Any help on this issue would be appreciated.
