Hi list,
Check out this PDF on MTNL Mumbai's website: http://mtnlmumbai.in/tariff.pdf
It lists all the tariff or all possible services that MTNL Mumbai provides. Now scroll down to page 16 ( TriBand ADSL Service ) and check out what is written below TriB T10 plan. It clearly says "Only for WinXP users". What kind of an ISP restricts a particular plan for a particular OS only?
Got any clues why have written only for WinXP users? Is anyone using that plan with Linux? Shouldn't we complain to MTNL for such a stupidity?

They must be having some kind of special app. on the WinXP system otherwise how do they determine the OS of the PC that is _behind_ the ADSL modem/router esp. with the modem in PPPoE/PPPoA mode. Interestingly, they don't mention WinXP, for the Trib T10 plan in this link; http://mumbai.mtnl.net.in/triband/htm/tariff.htm

You missed their banner "MTNL hai to sahi hai" at the top of every page in the PDF document :) You can try complaining. However, from my and other people's (see broadbandforum.in) experience I'll say it will be like talking to the wind.
