Hi
I am unable to configure the rexecd server. Please note the following details
1) Server Red Hat 9
2)Server Side RPM: rsh-server-0.17-14 List Of files: /etc/pam.d/rexec /etc/pam.d/rlogin /etc/pam.d/rsh /etc/xinetd.d/rexec /etc/xinetd.d/rlogin /etc/xinetd.d/rsh /usr/sbin/in.rexecd /usr/sbin/in.rlogind /usr/sbin/in.rshd /usr/share/man/man8/in.rexecd.8.gz /usr/share/man/man8/in.rlogind.8.gz /usr/share/man/man8/in.rshd.8.gz /usr/share/man/man8/rexecd.8.gz /usr/share/man/man8/rlogind.8.gz /usr/share/man/man8/rshd.8.gz
3) Client Side RPM: rsh-0.17-14
4) As you can notice the only executable server side is /usr/sbin/in.rexecd and I have also restarted the xinetd server Also I have touched on pam rexec here is what it looks like
#%PAM-1.0 # For root login to succeed here with pam_securetty, "rexec" must be # listed in /etc/securetty. #auth required pam_nologin.so #auth required pam_securetty.so auth required pam_env.so auth required pam_stack.so service=system-auth account required pam_stack.so service=system-auth session required pam_stack.so service=system-auth
I have commented the above two lines .
Also I have edited the following files from this path /etc/xinetd.d and made disable = yes to no the file names are as follows
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 360 Nov 6 11:05 rexec -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 377 Nov 13 11:13 rlogin -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 430 Nov 13 11:13 rsh
Kindly let me know where I am going wrong
Thanks & Regards
