I am trying to share a printer connected to windows98 m/c.
I am using cups to manage printing from GNU/Linux box.
The printer is an Epson dot matrix 24 pin series printer.
on the windows98 m/c printer is shared(no authentication required)
and is visible in the Network Neighbour Hood as shared.
In cups I tried few settings but results have not been
encouraging at all.
Deviece URI : smb://220.127.116.11:80/printer_name
Driver selected was Epson 24 series.
But after these settings I get error saying "Connection failed
with error NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFULL"
The log level setting for cups is at debug2 but the error log
also shows the same statement nothing more.
Device URI : ipp://18.104.22.168/printer_name
Device URI : http://22.214.171.124/printer_name
Driver was the same as in above case.
After doing this setting I get an error saying "host 126.96.36.199 is
busy or is down will retry in 30 seconds."
and then the same line is also present in the error log.
Printing to the same printer is posible from another windows machine.
but cups is having trouble.
Thanks in Advance
