Do you mean that the actual/effective speed for reliance is around
4.5 kbps? In other words as good as my ol' MTNL dialup
connection?!!
144kbps (or is it 170kbps)) is the total channel throughput. Shared
by umpteen users. Result 4.5kbps actual throughput most of the time.
Occassionally you may get a burst of speed when the channel is
relatively less cluttered. Unless you are guaranteed in writing of
a fixed continuos bandwidth, all the promises are rubbish.
In fact a 9600bps gsm connection (not gprs) works far better than
any of the shared schemes. Of course you are charged Rs.4 per minute.
