Hi,
We have been trying to build a replacement for WhatsApp as a cooperative (the software part is already implemented by quicksy.im, but privacy policy and terms of use for the service in a democratic way giving users more control) for over a year. For services that needs to be run 24/7 on a server, in addition to convincing people, we need money and maintenance effort to keep it in a sustainable way. So we have to go beyond just the technology part to build better organizational structures as well. We have a private beta version of the app and service already, you can learn more about it at https://prav.app
To register as a cooperative society we are looking at two options,
1. Multi state cooperative society (this is our preferred option), which needs 50 members from two states and we have 57 from Kerala already, but other states are still not 50 yet, Maharashtra is at 30, Tamil Nadu at 11 and Karnataka at 9. 2. Register as a cooperative society in Kerala (this is our fallback option in case we don't get enough members from a second state by June 15). It needs 25 members from a single district. We have 11 from Thrissur, 8 from Palakkad, 7 from Kozhikode and 3 from Thiruvananthapuram.
Would you consider joining as a member of this cooperative society? If yes, you can fill this form at https://prav.app/become-a-member/ and we will contact you once we reach the required numbers.
It would be great of you can ask your friends and contacts too. Since it requires a large and coordinated effort beyond just creating software, we need your support to make this successful.
Thanks Praveen
