pvscan - Scan all disks for Physical Volumes

To scan all disks for physical volumes # pvscan

To print physical volumes belonging to exported volume groups # pvscan -e

To display short listing format # pvscan -s

To Show UUIDs # pvscan -u

To set to verbose mode # pvscan -v
