We need contact in formation for free software activist from following districts of Kerala.
BTW, it is learnt that the CD for IT@SCHOOL was prepared by FSF-I for the Govt of Kerala/IT@SCHOOL project.
I have not seen the CD myself, but from the description, I gather that the CD is based on morphix, and is customised by the FSF-I for use in the schools in Kerala, and the user experience so far has been great. Keep it up guys!!!
Actually, the first version was based on Morphix, and was done by Sajith and Vimal. That rather old CD was distributed by LiFY last month along with the magazine. We should thank Fred for that. The latest one is based on Ubuntu, and was done by Arun and Vimal. The first one contained almost everything we could find that was related to education (well, we later found more!), while the new one has only selected packages related to education. Tuxpaint is a hit among the students who used the CD.
PS:- Fred, do you smell something for the next bytesforall news letter??
