Months back we faced similar problem. It was solved using "epson LQ850 driver "
Our configuration OS - GNU/Linux ( Redhat 9) OpenOffice- 1.0.2 Print service - CUPS Dot Matrix Printer - WIPRO HQ1040+ (24 pin) Problem - Openoffice does not print with "omni" as printer driver. Solution - Used EPSON LQ850 driver "lq850" ( used printtool to configure printer)
Hope this solve your problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sujeevan S2S2,Kannur Kerala: For latest collection of CDs contact S2S2, email: s2s2service@gmail.com -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wipro Peripherals if now renamed as WeP peripherals.

Try IBM ProPrinter compatible drivers. If you are going to print mostly text message without formatting try raw queue (no filters). Good luck Rajesh.
