There seems a lot of options in these cases. A student can have a lot of options to work

A few i propose a few options from my side

Add GCC + EMACS,ANJUTA ,kdevelop

-> RDBMS Vb+Oracle8i PHP+MySQL ->**see bottom

Add Python + MySQL , Python+PostgreSQL

-> HTML ie netscape ->obvious

Add mozilla,galeon,konqueror

-> Networking BSD sockets(GCC) same no change

-> S/w Engg. MS.Project Mr.Project ->***successful

Add CVS

If you could create an online list with focus on students more applications can be added(tip of the iceberg at present).
