hello rajshekhar yes youre absolutely right in your view about lawyers but dont forget i am a lawyer too though very new to all this but isnt prof moglen and his team already an inspiration.but yes you re right it could be boring for the free software community to hear things like whats a source code and things of the same genre.thnx a ton for this positive response and i'll be greatful if you could suggest what kinda topics we should cover apart from a basic key note address telling them about what we re talking.it will be of tremendous help.april is when i plan to hold this conference and would look forward to all of you guiding me through this with ideas ,suggestions, orders and participation ,i really think this can work out
Warm Regards Mishi Choudhary

Good initiative. You should talk to your friends who are interested in this and call a meeting. If there are a reasonable number of students, and possibly teachers, you could talk to your HoD or Principal and arrange for a Workshop/Lecture-Demo. You could write to Arun (arun@gnu.org.in) who could arrange a one-day or longer Workshop. Many engineering colleges in Kerala are now migrating to FS and Arun has been conducting Workshops/Training programmes.
Wish you all success in your efforts
Thankz friends. We are six students who are interested in this.I will talk this to our HoD and will reply u soon. Can u plz make the basic intenstion of this foundation.liottle more clear.............

Please read the material in the webpage of FSF India (www.gnu.org.in), in particular, the links What is Free Software, What is the GNU Project and Why we exist. You could also read some of the plentiful material available on the web pages of FSF (www.gnu.org). This should give you some idea about Free Software, its history and ideology, and the objectives of the Free Software Foundation. Some of the material there should also tell you about the problems we face, and how people in different places are fighting for freedom. If you have anything specific, please feel free to write to this list. There is another list specific to Kerala, namely, fsf-kerala. You could, time permitting, join that list also.
Best wishes

I did not get your meaning here. Did you mean "the lawyer community" instead of "free software community " in the above sentence ? Can you clarify a bit ?
thnx a ton for this positive response and i'll be greatful if you could suggest what kinda topics we should cover apart from a basic key note address telling them about what we re ? talking.it will be of tremendous help.
It depends on the audience. Will it be for the lawyers in Delhi and surrounding areas only ? Do you want to concentrate on the technical part of Free Software or on how it makes sense for India. My arguments are outlined here http://geocities.com/lunatech3007/e-gov.html . Or do you want to demo how the lawyers can get involved with it or do you want to demo how the courts can use it to streamline their work flow.
I suggest that you get into your audience's shoes and see what will be useful for them.
april is when i plan to hold this conference and would look forward to all of you guiding me through this with ideas ,suggestions, orders and participation ,i really think this can work out
I suggest you involve the Delhi LUG in this. Post your idea on the LUG-D mailing list. Is there some way you can involve the law colleges from Delhi in this effort ? That way you will have a pool of volunteers for this.
