Hello All ,
Good thing this thread started about MS.
All of you might know allready about program called PROJECT SHIKSHA which is being promoted by MS. Even MS is writing curriuculum for PRIMARY, SECONDARY and HIGH SCHOOL.
GoI has sold the Education System to MNC called MS. We need to stop this also.
Even some STATE Govts. in INDIA have signed MOU with MS for this PROJECT SHIKSHA.
MS in the name of PHILONTHRAPHY is buying their way into EDUCAION SYSTEMS in INDIA.
Even some Govt. colleges and Some Universities are offering courses only in MS products.
I will post some articles related to this in my next posting.
We all need to think how we can stop this MS mania !!!

I don't know about if I will be able to work as a full timer. As far as efforts are concerned as a part timer, I am already preparing for a 3 day Seminar on Free Software to be conducted at a college in Wardha, Maharashtra.
More on this in a separate thread... as it would be inappropriate to discuss about seminar in this tread.

Please do tell us what we should do and how we can help. I think this issue is indeed serious. We should act on a war footing before it becomes part of a school curriculum. What we need is action!
Instead of arranging meets in a particular college/institute, one should take up *all* the educational institutes in a given area and visit them and convince them the disadvantages of choosing the M$ way. We can meet the Principal/Teachers and make them aware of FOSS. We should stop this at any cost!

Strange but true... Nagpur University has M$ .Net and ASP included in their syllabus.. I am ready to fight with the university officials but then I do not have enough authority.. An application on a plane paper and an application on gnu letterhead. The two will definitely have substantial difference.

ofcourse it doeas have diff.. better way to get things goign as soon as possible. else things wil be out of hand as in nagpur univ
I am trying to do the same. I am trying to get the signatures of as many people as possible so that the application becomes heavy.
Planning to get the letters from famous people/wrtiters/Legislators/Engineering and diploma college heads/NGOs.
This way the whole bunch of application can be sent to VC.
