I agree... but mandrake doesn't come with wvdial.
What I am looking for is a neat utility like weave dial *on
Mandrake* to configure PPP. I don't wanna use chatscripts.
Thanks,
Amol.

As long as everything is 1s and 0s, and bits'n'bytes... you can do
anything :). If that doesn't make the answer obvious-it's a YES!
But again, many web-mail services don't allow you to do this. For
starters, if you use Outlook you can try configuring a new accout
with your name as Santa Claus and the e-mail address as
santa(a)northpole.com... just give the login information for your
POP3 server right.
Needless to say the procedure depends on which e-mail client you
are using.

Amol.

I am interested in clusters, but you need to tell me
the purpose
and the kind of hardware as well as the Netowork you
people have
available.

That's part of a trace from an slrn startup (which failed). The

why? Shots in the dark?

Alas! You have missed the point entirely. Free is not the free
that trick marketeers push down your throat. THE free refers to
free as in freedom, not free as in cost.
Free is freedom to modify. Though most of the licenses in the free
world are GPLish, there are subtle differences. You must choose
one that you can enforce legally ;)
And yes, you can charge for your efforts. But you have to make the
source available (atleast on request).
Check these links out for more details... and yes... googling will
give you a lot of material and food for thought :).

Please mark commercial emails with commercial in the subject.
Precisely what do you need clustered anyway? Email/web/database/proxies? Or do you need a beowulf type of cluster?
Some more details on why you need the clustering would be welcome.

Please do not send HTML mail.
A properly setup proxy cannot be detected. A Linux box by default will use ports > 60000 for NATing, but these are just kernel defines.
You can put in a clause in your ToS that NATing proxies are not allowed, and trace offending users by excessive bandwidth use.

You are free to charge anything you want for the software. All that the GPL requires is that you provide the source along with the binaries.
If you link to the GPLed QT edition, then you are required to distribute the source.

Of course, you are charging for your labour, and can put any value you want on it.

No, only using GPLed code in your application requires that you provide the source. If you do not use any GPLed code, then you are not required to release the source.
>What is our position with: copyleft, Free/Open Source, etc.?
http://www.google.com/search?q=copyleft
Free Software is defined on http://www.gnu.org
Open source software is software for which source is available under a restrictive license, like Java, or Solaris source.
