Hello friends, I am a IT businessman since 1997, after my graduation, I am heading a software and IT services company in Singapore. I do several freelance, projects on emerging technologies. I assit, budding business, IT, and now Linux professionals to start business in Singapore and California. I have a strong presence in these two cities for nearly 8 years. I represent several IT and Business consulting firms as Senior Consultant and Project lead and help them seek GRANTS, INVESTMENTS, JOBS, from several government agencies (in Singapore government support to local and foreign talents are quite straight forward and easy) and other sectors both in Singapore and United States. I wish to start (infact started) a Linux Solutions and Consultancy division within my existing framework in the US and Singapore, (We all can explore the structure, product and services related to the business anlayzing the strength & weeknesses) I can organize funding locally but looking for young, innovative talents, domain experts to shake hands (as I am not a TOTAL linux guru) we can design, develop and create a huge academy down the line (I am fairly a successful IT technopreneur & business man in my Career in this last 8 years). [ILUG-BOM]Debian : not getting in runlevel 5

Hi, I have debian installed on my machine. When i boot the OS it gives the msg line *************************** Entering runlevel : 5 ************************ but it does not get into x and shows the command prompt immidiately. if i do "startx" there it goes into x... Hi Try out QtDesigner, it helps you to design GUI applications as easily as you do it in VB and helps you develop applications of different styles like Mac, DotNET etc. However Qt is just a designer and you need to do some additional programming in Python to completely build your application. QtDesigner with Python supports MySQL as well as PGSQL. Please check out the OCT issue of Developers IQ Magazine. It has an article on how to develop applications easily with the help of QtDesigner and Python and the example in the issue is building an application for interaction with MySQL. I think this is exactly what you want. Hi! Has anyone successfully configured Java with mozilla 1.4.1 ? I've followed the instruction i.e. point symlink to libjavaplugin_oji.so in the Mozilla plugins directory. I have imported all the mails after converting .dbx files into .mbx format with a great utility called dbxconv available from people.freenet.de/ukrebs/dbxconv.html Please help. Hey Pal, First install nForce drivers: http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/nforce/1.0-0261/NVIDIA_nforce-1.0-0261.r… Then install: http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/1.0-4496/NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-… Then modify the XF86config-4 file to change "nv" to "nvidia" Then startx ...this shud work. I recently bought A7266VM Motherboard and an AMD 2000+ XP proc The motherboard has Ge-Force2 MX Display card onboard and onboard sound. I have installed RH9 and now i am trying to install the display drivers but i am unable to. The driver is NVIDIA-Ge*.run file which i got on the net. These are the steps that i followed 1) Started in run level 3 2) sh NVIDIAGe*.run 3) I made the changes in the XF86Config file i.e replace the display driver to nvidia (previously nv) and commented out one of the modules in the module section (as mentioned in the readme file) But after i make these changes and start X it gives me errors about my horizontal sync and vertical refresh....which is pretty suprising bcoz i did not make changes to that at all ..and with the same values my X was starting up without any issues previously.
