hi, is there a way i can use a device blocked by one program, if required by another prog.? the situation is like this, i am running skype on linux and at the same time i want to play xmms for some songs, (i can do it in windows, skype and winamp together so i hear the person as well as some music in backgrond.) to my knowledge i dont think its possible in linux, but just wanting to wish the i am wrong ;-)

What I am trying to do is simply run the Linux O.S. commands using CGI + Apache. This is so I can run simple scripts and show output through HTML. So far I have done the following. a) In httpd.conf ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /usr/local/apache2/cgi-bin/ b) Started Perl /usr/bin/perl -w & Now I am not exactly Knowing What to do . [ANN] Drupal Internship by Drupal/CivicSpace/OpenNGO

With 75,000+ Drupal power websites and an emerging industry supporting over 150 professionals, the open-source Drupal project and community is exploding. At the heart of this community is an incredibly active and productive group of contributors. Creating contributed modules, themes, bug fixes, and core enhancement, these individuals define the course of the Drupal project and the ecosystem of users, tinkerers, and professionals around it. Through this internship program we will attempt to train students from India the ins and outs of Drupal and help them established themselves as long term contributors to the Drupal project. Over two months the selected students will work closely with project mentors on real world Drupal projects; contributed modules, and core patches. They will learn the Drupal development process and gain extremely valuable experience interacting with a live open-source project. Students will be paid a stipend of 4,600 INR to 8,000 INR a month depending on the level of their contributions to the Drupal project. installing macromedia flash in ubuntu

Dear all, am trying to install macromedia flash in ubuntu to be shared by firefox and opera. now having downloaded the package on the desktop, i cannot install it. Hello all, Greetings from the Linux For You team! As you all know, last month we launched a new initiative called CommunitySpeak where we pose a question to various ILUG mailing lists and publish the top five responses (selected by our technical editors) in the magazine. Thanks to all those who responded to last month's question on "why a majority of the world's top 10 supercomputers are powered by Linux". The best five among the responses received are to be published in the July 2006 issue of LFY. The selected responses were sent by Vishnu Vyas (Chennai), S R Parthan (Chennai), R Subramanian (Chennai), Manu Konchady (Bangalore) and P Sriram (Chennai). Thanks again for your participation. This month we have chosen the topic: "What would make a Windows user pick up a Linux magazine?" No, this is not a marketing tactic. We are *really* curious. What would make Windows users pick up a Linux magazine? How can we convince them to read about and adopt Linux and other free and open source software?
