Chamba project (http://www.chambaproject.in) is an ambitious effort to
create a Swathanthra (Free/Libre) Animation Movie by pooling in
contributions from people around the world and funding artists
directly. It is an initiative to experiment and explore a more
collaborative and open approach to film making, aiming to be
appealing, easy to be a part of and easy to contribute for hobbyists,
enthusiasts and professionals alike using FOSS tools, resources, and
the power of social networking.

I am not sure if this is the list I should be mailing but anyways,
I have an idea for developing a technology product and I am currently in the
process of building a prototype.
I need seed funding for this product.
Can anyone tell me where can I get contacts to angel investors / investors /
VC funds, etc...
Any help would really be appreciated.
PS: I plan to make some parts of the product open-source once things start
clicking but that is still a long shot.

Hello friends
I use rsync to copy my incremental data to an external harddisk every 5 minutes using cron. However, if the external harddisk, connected to the USB port is disconnected, the root partition fills up. I need your help to create a proper script that does the following:
Before running the rsync copying script, I want to
a) Add some statement that would check if the external harddisk is attached and mounted.
b) If not, it should be mounted before the copying script is run to copy only to this external disk.
c) If it is not mounted, mount should be attempted, and if it does not mount, rsync copying command should not be executed.
Is there any better way to do this?
Under no circumstances, I want the rsync script to execute if the USB connection is not active.

Communication and Information Technology notified the National Policy on
Open Standards in e-governance
An Indian case study of how open standards can make an impact on the
domestic technology industry and promote innovation, by offering a

Smart Card Operating System for Transport Applications (SCOSTA).
SCOSTA was a standard developed for smart card-based driving licences and
transport-related documentation by different State governments. It was
developed by the National Informatics Centre in collaboration with the
Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Despite attempts by proprietary
lobbies to make the body opt for a proprietary standard, the NIC and
academics went ahead and developed an open standards, one that comprised
technological specifications that were entirely royalty-free, and put up the
specifications on their website. By doing so, they made a huge impact on the
entire market.

Dear Friends
Can anyone help me write a script for incremental backup using rsync to create multiple restore-point-backup that can be easily restored?
I feel a full backup once in 400 days, with hourly incremental, daily incremental and weekly incremental backup being rotated in a way in which 1 full backup followed by 24 hourly incremental backups, interspersed with 7 daily incremental backups and 5 weekly incremental backups may be protection enough for my data. What is the you all's expert opinion? Kindly suggest a better methodology please.
Would it be better if these backups are compressed and stored in tar format? Kindly guide please.

Nadeem: I am looking for capital somewhere in the range of $80,000 to
$90,000 for seeding the company.
Harsh: I have a theoretical working model not an actual working prototype.
The seed capital includes the prototype development cost.
