I have been fiddling with Perl 6 (Raku) for the past 2 weeks, and while specification wise (what's on paper) it looks quite advanced, the implementation leaves a lot to be desired. That set me wondering if Perl 5 (Perl) is still being used by people.
Back in the good old days, some of us (Philip Tellis and me at least) started serious programming using Perl and it was a joy to use.
Don't know about the current status.
Are there still any Perl programmers/developers around out here on this list and in Bombay specifically?
If yes, would like to catch-up with some at a meetup (when-ever that happens).
