Hi all I ise here a hathway cable connection with ip 202.88.141.8. We have mail squid and fetchmail running I have observerd that outsiders r not able to ping telnet ssh to this ip. i know iptables ipchains tcpwrappers is allowed to pas this ports and these services r down Does hathway block this? or what may b problem. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? setting path variable

hi how can i set the path variable for all the users using the bash shell to add a directory say /opt/java/bin. i know how to set the path for individual users through .bash_profile file but need help for setting path for all current users. rahul revo

Detecting X in a script

Hi! I'm trying to write a script in which a message is displayed by xmessage if X is running otherwise message is displayed by echo I tried this : if [ -f /tmp/.X0-lock ] then xmessage message else echo message However lets suppose that I'm running X and working on a Virtual Console. the file /tmp/.X0-lock would then exist. How do I now display the message using echo ? Please guide P.S. I'm using FreeBSD (It's kinda cool ;)). I guess the working of X is same under all Unices. -- Nikhil nikhiljoshi.cjb.net

Mosix Clustering Problem

Hi all, I downloaded current stable version of linux kernel 2.4.20. and I applyed the patch of open mosix to that kernel. I enable all options regarding openmosix.in the xconfig. after completion of all steps in the kernel installiation I reboot my machine. whatever I enable in the xconfig that all are working properly except that openmosix files. If i press uname -a then it gives to support of openmosix kernel. why I am not getting that openmosix configuration files? Any one plz help me regarding this. Regards Srinivasa Rao NatureSoft Pvt.
