Customized or specialized applications that interface with a database are
often used by businesses to expedite business processes. To move these
programs to Linux, IT would need to ensure compatibility as part of a
migration strategy.
What list members think about possible application on Linux like VB/Access?
What about MySQL or Pgsql with Qt or GNONE? Is it possible to create
console-based apps in Linux?

Good morning,
I wanted to file a vague report a couple of potentially exploitable

web browser testing tool, and stir some controversy - all in one short

Hi,
Can anyone point me to where I can get an explanation of the named
statistics on the internet. I couldnt find much. The reason being in my
stats, the failuers are showing 8483727, is that normal. People are not
complaing about my DNS, and my Name server is running fine. Is it normal to
have so many failure's in their stats.

Hi,
I have a mailing application running on RedHat 7.3, Every couple of months
we have a problem with the inodes getting used up on the /var partition.
There is a lot of space on the partition, However the inodes are used up by
a lot of 0 byte files by this application.
I just wanted to ask the gurus in the list, if anyone came across this
problem and how they went about trying to solve it.
I had to find out the 0 byte files in /var and then deleted the 0 byte
files.
Thanks..
Regards,
Keith
Wanted: Tutor for UNIX and PERL/PYTHON in South Bombay
I must learn to use UNIX and to program in PERL/PYTHON -- my firm (a US
bank) has some critical stuff on that configuration that I need to be able
to manage. I have mild programming skills to fall back upon (although I am
way out of touch with syntax, etc. and my regular job is that of a financial
analyst). Ideally I would like to do this either over a few full-day
sessions or part time over two weeks.
I would be obliged if any of you can help, or can point me to someone who
can.
Oh, and yes, I would gladly pay for the tutorials.
Regards,
Sid
