Sat / Sun Meet ?

So finally what is the date and time for this weekend's meet ? I think today is as late as we can get in deciding it. I vote Sunday evening 5-6pm to gather. I suppose location will be CCD at Bandra ? -- quasi Utopia Unlimited!

Hi, Thanks for the quick replies.Have managed to get the connection up.I installed Fedora Core 2 & setup the Pacenet account using 'redhat-config-network'.The only thing different I did was choose to do synchonous ppp as an option.What can I say? It worked!! Shows that you gotta try everything before you go asking for help.I feel so stupid. Thanks for your help. Change settings in squid.conf as suggested by Animesh, i.e., httpd_accel_host virtual httpd_accle_port 80 httpd_accel_with_proxy on httpd_accel_uses_host_header on Restart Squid NOTE: Remove any proxy-auth ACLs from squid.conf Then give the following command line: iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -s <xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/xx> -p tcp --dport 80 -j REDIRECT --to-port 3128 Where the xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/xx is the LAN IP range in CIDR notation. Pacenet connection problems.

Hi, I've been a Pacenet user for more than a year and had given up trying to connect through 'rp-pppoe'.However, after the discussion that took place on this list a few days ago, I decided to try again. Using <username@linuxuser>, I can connect & the connection shows up as ppp0 in 'ifconfig -a'.However, I cannot ping any IP addresses and connect to any web-sites outside the local net.Same problem in Slack 9 as well as FC1. In WinXP, I setup a dial-up connection that uses <username@linuxuser> as the username.Using this, I can successfully connect without the Pacenet dialer. Any suggestions as to what I should try? Linuxers, I wants help on apache and tomcat issue

Hi Linuxers; I am new in Linux community, I want little help regarding Apache and tomcat configuration. I read "JhonTurner HOWTO and many other HOWTO " and configured apache on linux 9.0 in my company, Now i can able to run my (jsp) pages in "/usr/local/tomcat/weapps" but when i try to run my (jsp) pages in "/home/$user/www/*.jsp" it doesn't work, Please tell me why it is not working in /home.... ? . If Linuxers have better configuration Please guide me i am suffering from a big problem. Waiting for reply, With Best Regards, Sandeep Lad

We are a US based MNC,Headquartered at the center of Silicon Valley, and at Bangalore we are building a data management server that will revolutionize the interaction between applications and their underlying storage infrastructure for which we require the following consultants. a) Application Software Architect : 2 Consultants b) 3 - 4 years - Developer - 10 5 – 6 years - Team Lead - 4 Above 10 years - Director - 1 Ps- The interviews will be conducted in a weeks time. 1. Experience developing Java based standalone applications. Interfacing with databases, RMI, JDBC, Ant, SOAP, XML, XSL, XPath, Web services. Experience with object modeling and UML Rational Rose is a plus. 2.Every qualified candidate from the developer through the team lead to the architect will have had previous experience in an offshore development organization (Indian or otherwise). Additional experience will be in engineering management projects. The candidate preferably should have worked in a product development environment as opposed to a project based environment. Relevant technical experience will be in either application software, networking software, or infrastructure system software. Hands on experience in Java, Linux, and database fundamentals is a must. The qualified candidate should be able to developed code, write functional specifications and design documents, develop QA for code, and perform white box testing. Cant we make sub groups? Like Nasik, kottayam etc. could be a sub group of this LUG, and the sub group members could recieve mails posted on in mumbai LUG, and the Sub groups can also post the same on our LUG. I think if the moderators of the respective smaller groups could add linuxers(a)mm.ilug-bom.org.in and Mumbai_GNULinux(a)yahoogroups.com on their regular mailing List. Would this work?? worth trying. Any Comments on this? Hope Other LUG Groups are Listining. (Mr. Lijo) Anyways we need more such groups as our own 800+ memebers have chilled out. atleast the smaller groups could contribute more.
