Quite often H.R and a tech guy(s) do short listings together. It takes
longer, but eventually ensures better quality.

Hi all,
Is a clean chit from badblocks enough to rule out hard disk damage?
fsck had earlier reported errors but they were only errors related to fs
inconsistencies, not hdd errors.
Anything short of a visit to Lamington, I hope.

Hello folks,
This is a free two day tutorial on a-z of networking, crypto
and spam control strategies.
Take a look at the slides here(unfinished)
http://www.freeshell.in/~bharathi/networking-crypto-antispam/
The talk will be sometime end Dec in IIT Madras.
I hope my friend arranges for a big enough hall to accommodate everyone.
Exact details will be communicated later, but as of now the
plan is to have a 9 am to 6 pm class session with 6 to 8 pm for
questions.
This will be on a Saturday and Sunday.
I hear some folks are planning to come down to Chennai.
It is COMPLETELY FREE OF COST! ;)
I request all of you to come and let us have some fun!
Of course all are welcome, the more the merrier. :)
Looking fwd to meeting you all...
regards,
Girish

I have an old version of a windows database program for Homoeopathic
medicine repertorisation. If you are curious take a look at
http://www.hompath.com/
Now this is a windows only program and comes as an installable cd w/ a
HASP hardware lock (which can either be parallel port or USB type).
I checked out the alladin site at
http://www.aladdin.com/support/hasp/hasp4/linuxdrv.asp
for linux drivers and the only drivers they have are for Suse 8.x, 9.x
and RedHat 8.x and 9.x according to the readme that came w/ the
download.
My question is has anybody been able to get these locks recognised under
linux ? The problem is doubly compounded as I would like to run the
program under wine.
Of course the vendor of the database has no idea what would be required
to run the program under linux.
thanks,
Sharukh.

Since we are on the topic, how ``decent" should the memory size be for say a
1 hour clip(with sound) at a 640x480 resolution?
