remote MYSQL connection error

Hi i am trying to connet to a mysql databse whose servers IP is( 203.1123.28.111 ) from a remote PC and get the following errors [root@server ~]# mysql -h 203.1123.28.111 -u root -p Enter password: ERROR 2003 (HY000): Can't connect to MySQL server on 203.1123.28.111 (113) Also on the server i cannot stop the firewall setting cuse of security reasons ..... most of the help on line say that the problem is resolved if the server's fire wall is disabled . Does any one have any ideas how to get around this !!! -- Warm Regards Agnello . G .Dsouza

postfix query

Hi Al I have a postfix server and have a query on its functioning : What is the difference between Local Delivery Agent ( LDA ) and virtual delivery agent ... Do these two daemons work simultaneously.In my main.cffile i have thne following statements #virtual_transport=virtual ....... does this men that the LDA is not running. ?? My second question is what is spawn then following is an extract i got from the net , but if some one can give me a an explination in a more understandable language ( spawn The spawn process creates non-Postfix processes on request. It listens on a TCP port, Unix domain socket, or FIFO connected to the standard input, output, and error streams. ) thanks -- Warm Regards Agnello . G .Dsouza
