Since all configurations in GNU/Linux are stored in plain text files, usually it is easy to figure out the root cause of such problems. Just move ~/.kde to ~/kde-old and re-login to the system in KDE. Then do diff -r ~/.kde ~/kde-old | less If there are missing files in ~/.kde or its sub-folders, then get them from ~/kde-old and check keyboard by re-login. Once that test is over and problem is not noticed, then merge change-sets from files in ~/kde-old to ~/.kde and repeat the testing. By analyzing the change sets in each file and then merging such sections from older file-set to the working one, we can figure out when keyboard settings break. If the deviations in files are more (heavily customized KDE apps), usually it will take longer to figure out the cause of the problem. Raghu

keyboard freezes in one session in kde

hi, I have a mandriva spring 2008 box with kde which has 3 users. From today, for one of the users the keyboard does not work after entering kde, but for the other users it works perfectly. How to uninstall Softwares ??

hi i have installed Ubuntu 8.041 LTS Desktop, then i installed Wine to install some windows based apps, i have installed windows based apps, but they are not launching..some error.. so i want to uninstall them and re-install, them, but i dont know how to *un install* those windows apps.. (ACD FotoSlate) also is there any other program like wine which supports windows apps.. actually i want some softwares to run on ubuntu, 1st one is photo print software like Acd Fotoslate (win xp based) it has ready templates to print multiple photos on each sheet. 2nd one is i want to view & print .dwg (autocad) files 3 rd i want Ares p2p like software on Ubuntu.. can anyone please help..in details and give links.. acutally i am not Linux savy.. i was using win xp ..but now i switched over to Ubuntu -- IPS Khurana ***************************** Cell No: +91 9869019416 Khurana Sales & Services Distributors & Wholesellers Total IT Solutions! Hello, It appears that Linux for You has finally heeded to complaints and come up with a better packaged media in their magazines. This month's issue has 7 distro ISOs that one can try out. It would be more simpler to simply install virtualbox from your repos and boot the ISOs live into the virtual window. With his his 'Omelette Post' about FOSS.IN/2008 Call for Participation, Atul Chitnis, the FOSS.IN team 'leader' indeed sent an strong sign. For those who aren't aware of it, FOSS.IN is the longstanding major FLOSS event in India and, still (just like our beloved Debconf) only run by volunteers. Last year, along with Sam Hocevar, I had the chance to attend the event and share the groove of that big, huge, conference, with over 2,000 participants.
