You can use staroffice 6.0 also which is product of SUN to handle documents, Presentations & spreadsheets & it is very decent product. rgds girish Hi, KOffice, OpenOffice can handle your documents, presentations, spreadsheets etc as efficiently (rather more) than dear M$. Mozilla, Lynx, Konquerer ... etc are great for viewing websites. there are better mail clients so at the end of the day why do want to run M$ app from Linux when you have better alternatives. still if u want to use IE/ Office try using WINE - it does a decent job for lightweight M$ apps but u cant be sure as it is still in development. Using Dreamweaver with WINE

Hi Luggers, I tried using Dreamweaver with wine. However it is not working. Whenever I try to run any windows programs it throws up a kernel32.dll error. Does anybody know how to tackle this? The exact error message is given below: err:module:PE_fixup_imports Module (file) KERNEL32.dll (which is needed by C:\windows\system\version.dll) not found err:win32:PE_LoadLibraryExA can't load C:\windows\system\version.dll err:module:MODULE_LoadLibraryExA Loading of native DLL C:\windows\system\version.dll failed (error 14), check this file. err:module:PE_fixup_imports Module (file) VERSION.dll (which is needed by C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Dreamweaver 2\Dreamweaver.exe) not found I tried including the line "kernel32" = "builtin,native", the result was that I got the error given below: err:win32:do_relocations FATAL: Need to relocate C:\windows\system\kernel32.dll, but no relocation records present (stripped during link). Java Applets on Linux Netscape

Hi luggers, I Wanna know ways of detecting presence of java 2 plugin and its version before loading my applet. If user's browser does not conatin jva plugin he should be redirected to download it first. (applet should not load). How can I do this? One of my firends told me I can use Object tag for this. problem with mounting of windows partition

Hello, i currently have rhl 7.3 installed on my system. i added the foll line to "/etc/fstab" "/dev/hda1 /mnt/win vfat auto,owner,user 0 0" this change mounts the win partition in the partition in the directory /mnt/win with the permissions 755 & root as the owner so that no other user gets the write permission but i want to give write permission to my normal user account so i tried the foll line "/dev/hda1 /mnt/win vfat auto,owner,user,rw 0 0" but it does not work so i tried adding the foll line to "/etc/rc.d/rc.local" "chmod -R 777 /mnt/win" this only increased my boot up time, but did not solve the problem this way i have to log in as the root 2 do even small changes am facing a lot of problems this way plz help!! -- Best regards, Pradnyesh mailto:pradnyesh@gmx.net
