Well the avg user will hav a shifty set of speakers and no requirement... and I was talking in their regards only. High end stuff would mean better skills and hence other softies, the noob user doesn't mix audio or do shitload video edits... they want something that plays songs, blends with portable players, loads pics and videos frm devices and such stuff. Highend multimedia works is a totally diff thing and not in question here... Syncing devices on Linux is still a nightmare. Even android phones based on Linux are not easily synced with Linux. This is the basic stuff people require bfr doing audio video mixing and other "professional" stuff... Comparisons of events apart, if anyone here wants to team / volunteer for a Mumbai event, I could propose to my principal after we have a draft. We have had a mini Foss event under JTD, with just 8 - 10 students, and I don't know if it would quantify as a success, but I don't think there's a harm in trying again. [OT] which laptop should I buy

Hi, I'm planning to buy my first laptop, and I'm confused. Can you people suggest me. Budget is 30-35 K Use :- For development purpose. It should run Eclipse, Firefox ( atleast 20-25 tabs), Multimedia. at the same time. on my current office laptop( Dell latitude D810 with 2GB Ram) I can only run firefox, and small IDE. No multimedia at one go. It hangs... though I use xubuntu. OS :- Kubuntu. -- Regards Mukesh Yadav

I'm also looking for a similar configuration n budget and this seems to fit my bill perfectly...
