Sorry to spoil the party,but there are reports of Vista refusing to boot up after Linux is installed,though those cases were on boxes with single HDDs.If your friend has 2 HDD's,then no problem,he can install vista on one and linux on the other but it involves some drive swapping as illustrated in the link below: http://wiki.gtwy.net/index.php/Dual_Boot_Vista_and_Linux Also,another link is; http://www.pro-networks.org/forum/about78184.html Regards, Easwar

Linux with Vista

Hello All, A friend of mine bought a branded pc with Vista installed. However no additional peripherals work as their drivers are not available in vista. I suggested that he install Linux in dual boot and he has agreed. I only want to know if Linux and Vista will live peacefully and boot from Grub. Does Vista have the same booting method as XP? -- Regards, Rony.

Virtual Distributed Ethernet

Hi All, Came across this cool piece of software - Virtual Distributed Ethernet -http://vde.sourceforge.net/ It basically allows you to simulate a network on a single computer and it allows you to connect these distributed ethernets to each other. It is extremely useful if you have multiple images running under qemu and wish to connect them , simulating physical hosts. sadly it is not packaged into deb. regards, C
