Linux Compatible Laptops

Hello All, The NGO that Krishnakant is assisting in converting to Linux, plans to buy 4 laptops that will be used for demonstration sessions in multimedia as well as web, graphics and office applications. So the lappys have to run proper sound as well as video. Krish is right now in Kerala so I am posting this message on their behalf. Those who have recently purchased laptops and are running linux properly on them, please give their suggestions and opinions for lappys that install linux out of the box. Last time Krish and his team had a tough time getting linux up on 102 ggc with dual core processors. So this time we are playing safe. Line wrapping on web-browser

Hello list, I am creating an html page through php, extracting data from postgresql. The resulting page is showing the completing text in one line. I am not able to find a way to wrap the line to make the age readable on browser without horizontal scrolling. Please help Thanks. Ashok -- Linux - Transforming Lives !

DSDT and ACPI

Hello All, I was checking out DSDT and ACPI on the net and found that many BIOS manufacturers are giving incomplete ACPI tables for on-board hardware. http://acpi.sourceforge.net/dsdt/index.php ACPI was meant to make hardware compatible with different OSes through a common interface. So if the tables are broken and yet everything works fine in M$ then is it because M$ gets the other incomplete half to make it fully complete? Something other distros will not get? Hence I can not say anything. Even then. Why not Mutt? GNU did not write Mutt. Person 'd' again went for his MacOS. Reason being OpenOffice.org could not render his presentation made in Powerpoint. The problem with Creative Commons is that its chief says Free Software and GPL has does not have the concept of copyright. That is nonsense. Isn't it? Are you helping the drafting of GPLv3? Or are you just sitting and lecturing? Back when the GPL was written, Open Source did not even exist. Why only 'web services'? What about Tivoisation? Are the Open Source champions doing something about it? Bruce Perens publicly urged the Linux kernel hackers to embrace GPLv3, and supported Stallman's view on this on lwn.net. Bruce Perens is the chap who wrote the Open Source Definition. In that same article he also stresses the need to start talking about software freedom once again. Where is Mr. Torvalds?
