I use a Compaq notebook. Here are its details:
Model no: Compaq Presario 2203AL
Motherboard: Intel 855 GM with Intel Xtreme 2 graphics
Procesor: Intel Pentium M 715 1.5GHz
Memory: 256 MB 266 MHz
Storage: 30GB serial ATA IDE drive at 5400 rpm
Pointing device: Synaptic touchpad
Network interface: Internal modem, Realtek RTL 8139C ethernet card,
Intel PRO 2100 3B mini PCI adapter wireless LAN card (IEEE 802.11a/b)
Micellaneous: IEEE 1394 Firewire port, external monitor (secondary
display) port, S-Video output, 2 USB ports. No serial/parallel ports,
and no bluetooth/IR support.
Each and every piece of hardware has worked on GNU/Linux, and HP was
good enough to give me Linux drivers for the modem and the wireless
LAN card. On Fedora systems I have had trouble getting the graphics
hardware to perform at its optimum level, although on Ubuntu systems
things work fine.
Regards,
Debarshi
