whats obfuscation

hi can someone plz tell me what obfuscation exactly is, and how to obfuscate some code given to u. actually we have an upcoming comptt. in goa college of engg. and there is this even which is called "dubugsy n obfuscy" where we have to obfuscate and debug some code tha'll be gven ot us and do this ON PAPER... installing linux from hdd

i have a linux 7.1 installed along windows managed by lilo while upgrading to rh7.3 the cdrom cudnt live upto it and stops reading midway. this messed up my earlier installation. i got rh7.3 cds dumped on my hdd e:\rh73 (which is /dev/hda6 iguess) tree is soemthing like this e:\rh73 -> images -> dosutils -> RedHat -> RPMS -> base etc i started the installation from command prompt using autoboot.bat a part of dosutils now installation starts and asks me to select partition and then enter directory names. i have tried every possible dir names and partition name plz tell me how to identify / specify directory names holding installation files.. take care harsh
