Hi I am using Cable Connection for internet I have configured my Lan Card on Red Hat Linux 7........and am also able to ping the server of my Cable operator..but am not able to surf the net or connect to internet..... Hi all, We are pleased to announce the first part of the Simputer Workshop to be held at KRESIT auditorium on Saturday, 17th August 2002, 10am-1pm. The second part will be held sometime at the end of the month. The event is organized by ITA and the speaker is Prof. Swami Manohar (IISc/B'lore), acting Head of Picopeta Simputers and one of the architects of the Simputer. All are invited to attend. The details are as follows: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date and Time : Saturday, 17th August 2002, 10am - 1.00pm Venue : KRESIT Auditorium. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- TOPIC: Simputer: Bridging the Great Digital Divide The Simputer is a home-brewed powerful, low-cost, palm-top that runs for hours on penlight batteries. Intended as India's home-grown answer to the "digital divide," it does long-distance medical diagnostics, basic literacy training, micro-banking, commodity trading, and other applications aimed at the poorest and remotest villagers. Its input and output systems are designed for illiterates: a multilingual voice synthesizer and lots of simple graphics. It uses Linux-based software to keep costs down. The Simputer meets its demands through a browser for the Information Markup Language (IML). IML has been created to provide a uniform experience to users and to allow rapid development of solutions on any platform. The Simputer, costing about Rs.9k, through its Smart Card feature allows personal information management at an individual level for an unlimited number of users. The impact of this feature coupled with the rich connectivity of the Simputer allows it to be used in diverse applications: in micro banking, large data collection, agricultural information and as a school laboratory and so on. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Speaker: Swami Manohar (IISc/B'lore), acting Head of Picopeta Simputers is one of the architects of the Simputer. Windows n Linux connectivity

hi can somebody guide me on this situation. have a netwrok which will be used for internet purposes like ones in the netcafe(setting the gateway n stuff). what i wanna know is that if the machine having the modem is running windows, can i run Linux on my machine and still get access to the net thru the server?? how to set the gateway in linux?? Hello, Request some help in PHP programming.... How to code in the following situation.... Req.: Have an array of Name & surname & Client_code. Need to print a list without LISTING PEOPLE WITH SIMILAR "NAME & "SURNAME" IN THE ARRAY more than once. Eg. 1: name1 : surname1 : client1 2: name2 : surname2 : client2 3: name3 : surname3 : client3 4: name1 : surname1 : client4 5: name5 : surname5 : client5 6: name2 : surname3 : client6 In the above example, record 1 & 4 are same guys. And I have to list them only once. What I have done so far is.... for ($i = 0; $i < 6; $i++) { printf ($name[$i] . $surname[$i] . " manages " . $client[$i] \n"); } // end $i But this prints same people multiple times... Pls help. Pls do not suggest changing variables etc etc... Nilesh, Looks like you are into Web-apps. Take a word of caution here ... ColdFusion at its best is just cold fusion. Besides its not Free Software. I recommend you give PHP a serious thought.
