Compile problem for PHP with PostgreSQL

Hi All, I have strange problem. I am not able to compile Postgres support into PHP4.0.4pl1. I have compiled PostgreSQL 7.1.3. My system is Slackware 8.0 with Linux kernel 2.4.17. If I try to compile pgsql support statically into PHP module, this module refuses to load in to Apache (1.3.20). If I compile pgsql support as shared lib for php module it does not load and logs this warning PHP Warning: Unable to load dynamic library 'pgsql.so' - pgsql.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0 PHP module loads ok in Apache but I don't get pgsql support. I have tried every thing. Even searched on PHP's mailing lists and tried all the solutions posted there... Pls help... Regarding samba support for Windows Xp

Dear all, I am an ex-suscriber for this when i am working in (TISS) Mumbai.I used to attend meetings also.Now i am in NCBS (TIFR) Bangalore. Red Hat 7.2 Installation: Partitioning?????

HI EVERYBODY, Here is a very basic question (but I am really stuck!! :| ) I have been trying to install red hat 7.2 on a win98 machine. Everything goes fine until the partitioning screen comes up. I have a hdd of 37 gb and I have repartitioned it to 27+10 with FIPS and want to use the new 10 GB partition (win95 FAT32) for linux. When I choose automatic partitioning screen, it declines to do that (space not available). Next when I come to the manual partioning screen, I cant proceed their either. When I select the hard drive partition of my choice and try to add new partitions (root, swap and boot), I get the same errors, space not available. And it woulnd't let me proceed. Once I have done partitionless install with linux 7.0 on the same machine without having hard drive partitioned by fips. And it worked fine. Unfortunately, as it seems, Red Hat 7.2 doesnt support partitionless installations. Any comments, suggestions, advises, must do's, undo's?????????? CD ROM problems Kernel 2.4.7-10

I recently installed RH7.2 using Seascope disks. Initially due to non availability of GLIBC (proper version ) on CD 1 of 2, only a minimal install was possible. Later on I loaded the RPM's one by one. My CDROm drive Samsung CD writer RW 8.4.32 is recognised by the kernel, but when i try to mount the CDROm, I get a message /dev/cdrom improper device or device does not exist. I have the following line in lilo.conf append="hdc=ide-scsi" This used to work and still works on Caldera with kernel 2.4.2 (PCQuest CD's)loaded in another partition. My creative infra CDROM has conked off so this is the only drive currently available with me. The CDROM is shown when the system boots up after Lilo in RH7.2 Any ideas in getting it working. Really Strange...

Dear Linuxers... I am scraching my head since yesterday.... due to my carelessness my system's /var showed 100% usage.. I deleted some old log files and freed about 1 gb of disk space.. Now, even after this df showed 100% usage... Until I restarted the box... After restarting the system i got 1gb free space... what command can i use to get the above job done without restarting the whole system... regards lilo

I could make chganges to lilo.conf and load the bootloader with command lilo How do I go about making changes in grub.conf (grub.conf changes i am comfortable with but still doubts linger). how do I load these changes. What when Grub gets overwritten, say by lilo, how do you get grub running again. Anand

DCOP Server Ka Funda

Could anyone please explain me the Funda behind DCOP Server? What kind of server is it? sometimes when I start KDE it gives me an error, saying ... "Error setting up inter-process communication for KDE. Message is: Could not read network connection list /root/.DCOPserver_<hostname>_:0 please check that dcopserver is running!" hmm...sorry to get this topic slightly ...away. does qmail work with fetchmail i mean i have seen linuxers make choices like sendmail+fetchmail+mutt or sendmail+procmail+netscape makes the best option..or things like that. so is there anything along with qmail (i mean in combination) that works really great...or is it that Qmail itself works on its own really excellent. akshay. linuxers(a)mm.ilug-bom.org.in wrote: On Wed, 9 Jan 2002, Manish Jethani wrote: > There's also gotmail.
