[HW] PCI Express x1 VGA card availability in India

I am encountering X11 issues with the embedded Matrox G200eW chipset on a server motherboard (Supermicro). The server board has only x8 PCI-e slots; no x16 slots (required for the VGA cards readily available). Debian Squeeze (amd64) stock 2.6.32 kernel installed by the distro. The Linux kernel fails to load the MGA (Xorg) driver and falls back to VESA Frame Buffer driver. The VESA driver does not support the hardware features that our application needs (xawtv/tvtime). I have searched but have not found any conclusive solution to the problem. A few have suggested installing a PCI Express x1 VGA card like this one [a]. Please share OEM/model + Indian vendor, in case you have come across anyone stocking PCI express x1 VGA cards. TIA -- Arun Khan Sent from my non-iphone/non-android device

Mumbai LUG meeting and Ubuntu 13.10 Release Party

Hello, Ubuntu 13.10 will be released on October 17th. So, I was planning of keeping a release party on Oct. 20 (Sunday). If people here are interested, we can have a Mumbai LUG meeting at the same time! The venue will be Directi again but the time is not fixed yet. Any suggestions for time? Also, there is currently discussion going on about having the Mumbai Python user group meetup and the Mumbai JavaScript user group meetup on the same day at Directi. I thought it would be great to combine all the events to maximise knowledge sharing. Does anyone have any objections to this? Best Regards, Rigved

Feedback about the Mumbai LUG meet and the Ubuntu Release Party

Hello, I would like to collect any feedback about the event. Is there anything that should be changed? Is there anything that you liked about the meet-up and that should continue. Is there anything that can be added? What are your thoughts on having the Python / Javascript meetups on the same day? I know that we discussed many things at the meet-up, like having mini-workshops etc. I am not sure how these can be managed in the conference room, as there is only a limited number of charging points and not enough room for tables etc. However, having a small presentation on various topics can be very well managed. We can also try a Google Hangout-on-Air next time at the event, so that people can participate remotely. -- Best Regards, Rigved Rakshit
