LG LXU 800 CDMA Modem under fedora

Hi, I have started using The Reliance LG LXU800 modem for their NetConnect service. I have used it under MS Windows as of now. They provide Linux driver for kernel 2.6.27-7-generic specifically on the CD which came with the modem. It did not load with the linux kernel 2.6.30.8-64.fc11 which I have on my laptop. Search on the Internet only advised me to change to that particular kernel. Can anyone provide links or information on how to make this work under the present kernel and later under the updates which will be coming. I would also like to know if this can be used on a Asus EEEPC 4G. Thanks and regards. sadhu

Hi, We are announcing the release of alpha-0.1 version of Anumaan, a perspective based, on-screen predictive text entry system for GNOME desktop.Anumaan is an extension of an Input Method (IM) mechanism (on GNOME desktop) in the sense that it extends its (IM) notion by including the power of text prediction. @steve well, thanks for reminding but I know it is based on Wine. But for playing games in linux using Wine with default drivers, you have to do hell lot of tweaking and config settings.PlayOnLinux does all that for you. So no bubbles are there to prick :) thanks Pratik Anand

We all know that Windows games don't run on Linux. Most of them don't even have linux ports. Many people even advanced linux users keep windows partition just to play games. Wine even doesn't help much as it slows down the system. Even worse case with virtualizations (like VirtualBox). Now here is a better way of playing games of Windows flawlessly on Linux. http://www.playonlinux.com/en/ Just stumbled upon it. [commercial] OnSite help with 2 HDD - VolGroup issues

Hi, I have an IBM server with 2 identical disks -- SATA 250GB. I have installed CentOS 5.3 on both the disks. I want to keep both the disks connected in the server, Boot from Disk-1 and run a full disk RSync every night. The problem is, the 2nd HDD won't mount because of identical VolGroup names and related issues. Need to change the VolumeGroup of both HDDs and look at other related issues. End result, I need to be able to boot from HDD1, mound HDD2 and rsync. In case of HDD1 failure, HDD2 should be able to work as the main disk. I know this is similar to RAID and raid is an option, but I have my reasons for doing it this way. Looking for someone who can help me ? Let me know. Thx & Regards, Sandeep 98199-88384

Greetings! I am a final year engineering student from Sardar Patel College of Engineering, Andheri, Mumbai. I am a big fan of the FOSS philosophy and am working on BIOS level virtualiazation as part of my final year project. I am an ardent fan of Linux Journal and read it religiously every month from our college library. However due to some subscription issues the college is not able to acquire the October 2009 edition. Hi all, We are looking for contributors[+] to Ayttm[1][2], a universal instant messaging client. Here are the possible contribution scenarios along with skills required to get these things done: 0) Smileys and widget icons: Should know gimp/inkscape 1) Developers: C/C++ and gtk2/glib2 2) Developers to improve various chat protocol support: C/C++, protocol dump analysis (tcpdump, wireshark) 3) Developers to improve AIM/ICQ support: C/C++, protocol dump analysis (tcpdump, wireshark)[*] 4) Translators 5) Website/documentation maintainers: HTML, CSS, PHP, English. Basic image editing for screenshots or website design 6) Developers/Maintainers for the windows port: Windows development tools, C/C++, gtk2, glib2 Those interested may reply off-list. Please note that one does not exactly have to be a guru or an experienced hacker to give any of the above a shot. All we are looking for are people dedicated enough to want to learn any of the above skills and implement them.
