problem with java config

i have got red hat 7.1 on my machine.I installed jdk1.3 which was in rpm format however i am not able to compile my java programs my jdk installation directory is /usr/java/jdk1.3/ i have set the following envirnoment variables JAVA_HOME /usr/java/jdk1.3 CLASSPATH . PATH /usr/java/jdk1.3/bin JAVA_PATH /usr/java/jdk1.3 i have also got kaffe anathor java compiler it works fine but i want to work with suns implementation of java when i try to run the java compiler "javac" from the /usr/java/jdk1.3/bin directory i get the following error messages /usr/java/jdk1.3/bin/i386/native_threads/javac: error while loading shared libraries :libjvm.so: cannot load shared object file:no such file or directory it appears the library libjvm.so: is missing i didnt find it in the lib directory.or is it because of some kind of conflict with the other compiler kaffe i dont think that is the matter. what do i do? bye tushar what do i do ____________________________________________________ Buy Feng Shui Package for Rs. 151/- only, at http://shopping.rediff.com/shopping/fengshui_mailer.htm

I have tomcat running through apache (mod_jk). No one ever uses it though, so technically, it shouldn't be doing anything. However, I've noticed that after a day or so, there are about 30 java processes running, all attached to tomcat. The logs show that no one tried to access it (in fact, other than me, no one's even used apache on the machine). These processes take up loads of cpu time and basically slow down the machine.
