Hey, is the plural of Unix "Unices" or "Unixen" ? - Shrikant p.s:- beg pardon if this is a bit frivolous...

Xwindows configuration.

Hi everybody, I am using Redhat 7.0. on intel mother board. I have Xconfiguration set for all users with 1024 X 768. So when I do startx it it loads with this resolution. If I want a user to start with 800 X 600 resolution , Can anybody suggest what should be done. thanks and regards, Santosh K

Mouse problems

Hi, I'm trying to install debian on my system, and everything works out pretty fine, except the mouse part. Firstly, there's no /dev/mouse. So I figure that shouldnt be a problem and get gpm up and running and use /dev/psaux and then I do a startx. Then, when I move the mouse around, the pointer initially goes haywire, and then come to a complete standstill at the centre of the screen. My mouse is a PS/2 type. Any sol^ns ? - Shrikant
