Yes, cos the dll's available in wine are newer. Wouldn't it be the
same in case of using later versions of windows?
No, virtualbox emulates the Intel hardware and you select the version
of the hardware and the guest and host operating system. Then you
install your copy of Windows and then run visual c++ and visual basic
on it.
Do do the same in linux, one would have to run different instances of
virtual box on linux, below the virtual box, run different (older)
versions of WINE and then the visual C++ and visual basic would run
legally under the different versions of WINE.
By the way, I did run Microsoft Office under WINE, and TALLY under
WINE but the next day they did not run.
I wish somebody would come up with an open source / free ERP version /
or at least a TALLY.
