Hi Al I have a postfix server and have a query on its functioning : What is the difference between Local Delivery Agent ( LDA ) and virtual delivery agent ... Do these two daemons work simultaneously.In my main.cffile i have thne following statements #virtual_transport=virtual ....... does this men that the LDA is not running. ?? My second question is what is spawn then following is an extract i got from the net , but if some one can give me a an explination in a more understandable language ( spawn The spawn process creates non-Postfix processes on request. It listens on a TCP port, Unix domain socket, or FIFO connected to the standard input, output, and error streams. ) thanks -- Warm Regards Agnello . G .Dsouza

Hi all, Today I found out that the techfest being held at Thadomal Shahani Engineering College on Sept 30,Oct 2 and Oct 7 includes a Linux workshop as part of their workshops and seminars apart from the usual robotics,C/C++ competitions,LAN gaming,etc.Just a little curious,I decided to find who's holding the workshop....turned out to be a prof of the college supported by volunteers.What I want to know now is that Is any of our list members among the organizers/Supporters/material providers of this workshop? Setting up PPPoE connection on Debian

Hi list, I'm using a PPPoE connection to connect to my ISP - worldnet. (it's what's commonly referred to as "cablewalla ka net"). Under Windows I use the RASPPPOE protocol. I've been able to connect to it under Fedora using the nice "system-config-networking" tool. Under Debian I couldn't find any GUI tool. There is a command-line tool called "pppoeconf". I've performed the steps given on this site: http://users.pandora.be/Asterisk-PBX/PPPoE.htm The strange thing is that although this utility prompts for username and password, it doesn't give an option to select the Access-Concentrator and Service-Provider name. (The list of service-providers and access-concentrators can be obtained using pppoe-discovery). This is what I get in the system log: Sep 8 11:06:50 localhost pppd[3973]: Plugin rp-pppoe.so loaded.
