ntfs support and make install

i am using rh8.0(2.4.18-14) wihtout ntfs support... 1> i tried to recompile the kernel with ntfs R/W support( built in)....when it booted it could boot only up till LOADING NTFS: and then hung... i then tried to recompile with only ntfs R support but the same result....does 2.4.18-14 support ntfs.... 2> after recompiling the kernel when i do $make install it gives tons of error for which i cant use loadable modules...and due to which my sound driver and eth driver doesnt get loaded.. one thing i can do is make the drivers inbuilt...but thats not what i want...i want 'make install' to work..has someone faced the same problem.... -troy __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? X Server Problem with Xine

Hi all, I am running Debian sarge/sid on a 2.4.21 kernel with xfree86 4.2.1 (from sarge repositories). I recently installed xine from the sid repositories that i had added to upgrade my kde. But whenever I run xine, my x windows system crashes with exit status 11.Is this a known bug or is there some misconfiguration on my part? The x server runs fine all the time otherwise. Hiyee Dinesh, I already have kep all the cd's with Kamalesh. Please pick up the complete Mandrake set from him. Lemme know.....since this is a new initiative we have started more for users benefit than a commercial benefit of ours, i have a small question to ask. Will a person like you pay a deposit of 100/- which is refundable and then take cd's maximum 1 Distribution + 1 Educational / Misc S/W cd ?. Lemme know...the library has been kick started yesterday. Mandrake 8.2.,9.0 RH 9.0 are available with him too. Debian will arrive today. Hey Amit, Yep, it will probably be the first time. One and all are welcome for the screening. But no one from IIT has really volunteered to arrange the backdrop/projector. QT not executing

Greetings, I have written a application using qt. I was able to compile without any errors. But now when I compile (this is successfull) and run (this is the problem) the pogram it gives the following error. QPaintDevice: Must construct a QApplication before a QPaintDevice Segmentation fault Google replied saying that there shouldnt be a static function. I do not know how to ask uic not to create static functions in my dialog_box.cpp. This is the only place where there are static functions. But there is no static work in Makefile or dialog_box.ui.
