NB: I am sending this to both lists since I have mixed up the threads
in both of them. The original question was asked in the
ilug-cal-discuss. This has happened entirely due to my callousness. I
hope you will understand.

Yes it works. Interestingly my /etc/X11/xorg.conf says:
Section "Device"
Identifier "Videocard0"
Driver "i810"
VendorName "Videocard vendor"
BoardName "Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device"
EndSection
Even after modprobing the i915 driver, if I change the xorg.conf entry
from i810 to i915, X refuses to start. This was the problem I had
encountered in the past. Is it necessary to change the entry at all?

Not only that, my GMail autocompletion is also creating a lot of
problems by popping out different addresses for the same keyword at
different times. Thats no excuse, and I hope I will be able to rectify
very soon.
Cheerio,
Debarshi
