Google Browser Sync on Fedora 5

If anyone has succeeded in installing the Google Browser Sync Firefox extension on Fedora Core 5, please let me know how you did it. When I try to install it, nothing happens - not even a Firefox message saying installation has been blocked. Googling has brought no joy. Thanks in advance, Sujeet

Logging Browser Activity

hi, I need to see what all requests my browser(firefox 1.0.7) is sending.. is there any place where i can make the browser log these things? Or is there like a proxy like thing that i can install and make my browser go through this proxy and then the proxy can spit out the details. I am really clueless about this, so if anyone could please give some pointers it would be great help. I tried googling but didnt find anything relavent. Im using Ubuntu 5.10 thanks -- Puneet

Running script as root

Dear List, I use two shell scripts to connect and disconnect to the internet which also enable and disable vnstat. Right now, I run the scripts using sudo. Is there a way to run them without entering the password each time? I tried using chmod 4777 on the scripts but they are unable to open the interface etc. Thanks. Aparna -- Aparna Appaiah

Running Firefox 1.5.0.4 from FC5

Hello All, This is my first email to the group and by seeing the previous messages I will get the answer/s here. I m a new linux user and installed FC5 y'day. It was having Firefox 1.5.0.1. I downloaded and extracted the tarball of latest version of firefox which is 1.5.0.4. When I tried to open the executable 'firefox' file.. it opened the new firefox window but of the older version only. So I removed all the folders named Firefox having older version. Then put the latest version Firefox's executable in /usr/bin directory. The tried giving 'firefox' command in console.. it gives me error.. "Cannot find mozilla runtime directory. Exiting." when i try to execute the firefox executable from extracted tarball itself by giving command "./firefox".... it gives me error "./firefox-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"! Can I get help regarding this issue.. How can I start latest version of firefox? ........ AND hi Dinesh! Vivek here! I seen ur replies. But even then you can allow only a particular command to be run. I dont remember the exact command. Often the sudoers file itself has hints on how to do this. Cheers, Debarshi

How robust is the WWW::Babelfish module?

I'm working on translating strings in a Perl script from English to Italian using the WWW::Babelfish module. While the script is a no-brainer, I've been stumped by the reliability of the module. For most of the last three days, it gave no output for strings beyond a certain length (that I can say was around 25 characters). Admittedly, its author claims it is for "fun"; but he also mentions that it broke input to the Babelfish service into chunks of 1000 characters, so my sting length shouldn't be a problem. I 've been tasked to make a script that will translate a set of strings from one language to another, reliably. When I tested the script from home, it didn't work yesterday either, but then it worked right now. Any hints/clues would be welcome.
