WANTED: 286 mobo, ECL circuits

Hi all, I need a working 286 pc at motherboard. If anyone has one please give me a buzz on 9820624902. I have a LeCroy 140 DSO (circa 1996) which conked out some yrs ago. I decided to resurrect the machine. The machine has an OPTI 286 mobo inside, with several isa cards (Cirrus vga, ide, GPIB, and ROM/static ram card). The battery has leaked and corroded the pcb. The machine also has ECL circuits which use -5V supply. This board has conked out too. Replacing the psu (with one which supplies sufficient power but is not the same) does not seem to work as the psu shuts down. Any ideas while i google. rgds jtd

kernel 2.4 on Fedora core 3

Hello All, I am trying to install kernel 2.4 on my machine running Fedora core 3(FC3). FC3 has 2.6 kernel. I started with 2.4.20 then 2.4.26 but ended up with compilation error. Finally i started with 2.4.31. This did not give me any compilation and continued till final installation. But on booting with 2.4 kernel, an error message is flashed showing Unable to load ext3.o module If anybody has tried this before or knows the answer, Do reply Thanks everybody Gaurav.

Help me with pppoe problem with ubuntu 5.10

I had ubuntu 5.04 which was configured to login to inet via pppoe at boot, I used deb's pppoeconf to conf it. it worked without problems, Now I have ubuntu 5.10 (clean install, not upgrade) i have to pppoeconf everytime i want to login to inet, even though pppoeconf asks me to start pppd at boot and I say yes.... I CAN connect to internet when i run pppoeconf everytime. so there is no problem with my ISP not serving linux clients. I tried to use rp-pppoe package which come with various utils, It connects and creates new ppp0,1,2,3,....... connections but i cannot surf the web or connect to internet, there is no pppd in /etc/init.d/ , i cant see pppd in rcconf, but i can see ppp what ever the problem is, I want to connect to inet at boot via pppoe, i have all the Access-Concentrator and Service-Name correctly configured. Hi, Has any one tried integrating sendmail with mysql for storing emails to an database. Can sendmail be modified to store incoming mail in databases. Being open source, people have the freedom to do whatever they want with linux, hence linux comes in various falours (or distributions), each has its own pros and cons and peculiarities. Mandriva (formerly Mandrake), Suse and Ubuntu are some of the distributions that are popular and also normally considered more user friendly. One you get a CD of one of these, u can easily search about more info on google or the websites of any of these distributions, and follow the installation steps etc accordingly. Linux Newbie FAQ .. No dude, there's no point in _opening_ /dev directory. You'll have to press CTRL-ALT-F1 and login with your userid and password on the console, issue dpkg-reconfigure, and restart GDM. FTP permission issue

Hi, I have hosted one website in /domain/www.xyz.com/web i have created three 3 ftp users i.e., admin user1 user2 Home directory of admin is /domain/www.xyz.com/web owner is admin and group is site1 Home directory of user1 is /domain/www.xyz.com/web/user1 owner is user1 and group is site1 Home directory of user2 is /domain/www.xyz.com/web/user2 owner is user2 and group is site1 Now the issue is admin should have all the rights on the /domain/www.xyz.com/web directory how can i edit or delete files from /domain/www.xyz.com/web/user1 and /domain/www.xyz.com/web/user1 using admin FTP login I cant use group write permission as suexec in apache will not work root rights cant be given due to security reason Kindly provide me solution for this. Cron problem

Hi Gopi, There should be no problem with a simple package like cron on either of the distros. Can u post or send me the logs of your exercise, u could script -a $HOME/crontrbl.txt or enable logging in putty. run the date command during the excersise after each step you perform. cron in RHEL 4

Hi all, I am trying to run a job through cron in RHEL 4. The job runs fine for the first time but after the 1st run when the time is changed in crontab, the job fails to run . For example , if i run a pwd >> /home/gopi/output.txt through crontab at 10 am and 10 mins ( this being the 1st run ), the command runs successfully for the first time and the file output.txt contains the output of the pwd command, but after the 1st run when I change the time 10 am and 15 mins then the command fails to run thru cron . If I test the same condition in RHEL 3, its working fine. There is a single line in crontab 10 10 * * * pwd >> /home/gopi/output.txt (during the 1st run) 15 10 * * * pwd >> /home/gopi/output.txt (during the 2nd run) Can anyone help me out with this Please.... ?
